Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the NELA Ride service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

NELA Ride connects riders and drivers through its apps. Availability depends on the service area and available drivers. Trips and payments are subject to these terms, the details shown before confirmation, and applicable law.

User Accounts

You must be at least 18 to create an account. Provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and use only accounts you are authorized to access. You may initiate account deletion in the app or follow the instructions at nelaride.com/account-deletion.

Rider Terms

As a rider, you agree to treat drivers with respect, provide accurate pickup and destination information, and pay or contribute any amounts you authorize through the app. You are responsible for the behavior of any passengers you add to your request.

Driver Terms

Drivers must provide accurate identity and vehicle information, submit the required license, registration, insurance, and inspection evidence, and complete the applicable screening and review process before accepting trips. Keep documents current and comply with applicable traffic, transportation, and insurance requirements. A verification badge is not an insurance policy or a guarantee of safety.

Payments and Fees

The app shows an estimated trip amount before you confirm a request. Although some screens describe this as a suggested contribution, confirming a paid request authorizes the payment shown in the app; it is not a tax-deductible donation. Final amounts may change with the actual route, trip duration, or changes you authorize. Payment is processed through the app. Review any applicable cancellation charge before confirming cancellation, and contact support about disputed charges or refunds.

Safety

Report safety concerns through the app. For immediate danger or a medical emergency, call 911. In-app support is not emergency dispatch and does not guarantee an immediate response. Follow local laws, wear seatbelts, and confirm the driver and vehicle match the app.

Prohibited Conduct

Users may not use the Service for illegal purposes, harass or threaten other users, discriminate against any user, attempt to defraud the platform, or interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NELA Ride shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid through the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Los Angeles County, California.

Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
